How to Use Minecraft Seeds
A Minecraft seed is a number that determines how your world is generated. Every seed produces a unique arrangement of biomes, structures, and terrain. The GBNodes Seed Viewer collects curated seeds for both Java and Bedrock editions with notable features at or near spawn.
To use a seed: create a new world, click More World Options (Java) or Advanced (Bedrock), and paste the seed. Always check the version noted alongside each seed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Minecraft seed?
A seed is a number that controls world generation. The same seed on the same version and edition always generates the same world, letting players share interesting spawns.
Are Java and Bedrock seeds the same?
No. Java and Bedrock use different world generation algorithms. The same number produces different worlds on each edition. Each seed in our list is labelled with its compatible edition.
Do Minecraft seeds change between versions?
Yes. Mojang changed world generation in major updates (notably 1.18 and 1.20). A seed that works in 1.17 may generate a completely different world in 1.20. Check the version listed with each seed.
How do I enter a Minecraft seed?
When creating a new world, click More World Options (Java) or Advanced (Bedrock) and paste the seed number. Leave blank for a random seed.
